Diagnosis and Part Selection Advice:

How did you know this part needed replacement? Why did you choose a certain brand/part number?

Had an 8-foot piece of concrete rebar go through the front of the car, taking out the AC condenser and fan. Somehow passed through the radiator without hitting a water channel. The other fan seemed to keep things cool and working for the better part of a year before it died as well. I started getting growling from the AC compressor at idle (no air flow) and the engine got hot one day in a traffic jam. Inspection revealed neither fan was working, so ordered/replaced both.

What came in the box? Were additional nuts, bolts, sealant, etc. needed for the repair?

Both fans came without the mounts or the nuts. Once the old fans were removed, fairly simple task of swapping mounts. The fan sizes weren't identical, but they fit in the mounts and the connectors were right.

Repair / Installation tips:

Special tools needed? Have to remove other parts to reach this one? Any left-hand threads, sharp edges, messy fluids or other pitfalls to avoid?

Thought about pulling the front bumper/grill off to gain access, but opted to try to squeeze in through the compartment. You can get the fans out without removing the front of the car, but it is tight. Go ahead and remove the bottom splash guard to gain access to the lower mounting bolts and connectors - saves a lot of time and skin!

Removing old fans, swapping mounts and reinstalling fans took less than an hour.
