Diagnosis and Part Selection Advice:
How did you know this part needed replacement? Why did you choose a certain brand/part number?
Blower motor blows on high fan setting only through defogger only _ part needed Blower motor resistor/relay part#ru103. I also installed new Blower motor Part#35474
Part Comments
What came in the box? Were additional nuts, bolts, sealant, etc. needed for the repair?
Resistor-relay came attached to white plastic shaft / Three bolt holed Flanged Blower Motor w/o Fan wheel
Repair / Installation tips:
Special tools needed? Have to remove other parts to reach this one? Any left-hand threads, sharp edges, messy fluids or other pitfalls to avoid? The resistor-relay switch is bolted by two hex bolts on the underhood blower/ Air-cond box cover to your left of the transmission dip stick and has one four wire socket connection attached to it. The Blower Motor sits below and just rear of the Resistor-relay, attached to the cover box by three bolts and one two wired socket connection. The Resistor- Relay was a snap to replace however my fan motor still blew on high only after install, which was corrected when the four wire socket connection was checked and found damaged ( one of four contacts melted ), fan motor blew on all speeds. The old Blower motor required wire socket disconnect and unbolt old motor which had a removable rubber gasket attached to the coverbox side. Upon removing old blower motor with the fan wheel attached, the fan wheel was taken off the old motor's shaft attached by a cap and clip nut and placed onto the New Blower motor which was installed. Problem two was found when we noticed fan blew on all speeds but air failed to come from vents or floor . Interior push button heat/ac control switch pannel unscrewed. Vacumm line toward rear of switch was removed and no vacumm found with engine running. Vacumm line from firewall checked under hood and found broken. cure- dice/splice/put back together rubber vacumm hose ac/heat works great
