Here is the best part of this experiment. I was told I would probably need a new trans for about $1300 to $1600. I did the work myself, not knowing what I was doing, for under $100. The car runs great now!

Diagnosis and Part Selection Advice:
How did you know this part needed replacement? Why did you choose a certain brand/part number?
I took the car to a transmission place because it was downshifted a little hard. They said I probably needed a new transmission but would charge me $300 to "drop the pan" and take a look. I new that once I was in to them for $300, they would say new transmission regardless of the problem. I asked a friend and he suggested I change the module. I had no idea where that was or what it was. I did a search on google and came across the parts and pricing.
Part Comments
What came in the box? Were additional nuts, bolts, sealant, etc. needed for the repair?
I got the parts I ordered.
Repair / Installation tips:
Special tools needed? Have to remove other parts to reach this one? Any left-hand threads, sharp edges, messy fluids or other pitfalls to avoid?
Of course I forgot to take the trans pan off, one side at a time, and the thing splashed down covering me in trans fliud. My girfriend was watching and just laughed her head off.
